Baked Carob Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cups of milk
  • 3/4 cup honey or carob syrup
  • 1/2 cup carob powder
  • 1/2 cup butter 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter 
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats 

Directions
  1. In a 2 litre pot over medium-high heat, mix milk, honey, carob powder and butter.
  2. Bring to boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla and peanut butter.
  4. Stir well, then combine with oats. 
  5. Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan and refrigerate.
  6. Makes 32 Bars.

    Hi Lindy,

    There was a typo. The correct quantity is 1/3 cup of milk. We haven’t tried it with almond milk however, I see no reason why it shouldn’t work. Let us know your results :)

    I’d like to try your recipe but I am not clear on how much milk is needed. Is it 1 cup, 3 cups or 1/3 cup? Also could I use almond milk in place of dairy milk. Thank you.
